I was in Walmart yesterday looking for nail clippers and you gotta go into women's cosmetics to get them. So I finally find them and this large black guy was getting a pair, I figure he's done so I casually step in front of him to get a pair. He slams his clippers into his cart and angrily says "excuse ME" and I step back and give him a friendly "sorry, bud" which he ignores.

All this over $2 nail clippers and decades of slavery, sheesh.

Somewhere in this thread is a discussion of my travails in the world of nail clippers.

Long-story-short, I lost some - tried a bunch of different ones - none of them cut the mustard and I was living a life of tragic disappointment - I didn't realize how much difference nail clippers could make - finally found the old ones and life is perfect again.

There is not much I can tell you about the ones I love so much. They are just some super-old nail clippers that are perfect for me for some reason.

About all I can say is, there is nothing that could be offered to me in a straight-up trade that I would accept. I could see myself actually killing a man over them.

I committed something of a boner this morning.

There is a woman who works here who has one arm and a stump on the other side. Arm is chopped off above the elbow.

So anyway, I tore the end of a fingernail and it was ragged so I wanted to snip it off below the tear. So I needed some snippy snips.

Harmony was always my go-to person for those but she is off on mat leave now so I was asking around and I asked stump woman.

Stump woman did not have fingernail snippy snips.

What is stump woman going to do with fingernail snippy snips? Think about it dude.

I don't know what she does about the nails on the one hand but she sure as hell doesn't operate clippers with the stump.

No but seriously man, why am I supposed to be afraid of ghosts?

I see a ghost and I'm just like, "Sup?"

Either we strike up a conversation or not. I move on.

Why should fear be a part of it? I mean, if it wants to harm me - and it has the ability - then okay, that sucks - but that's exactly the same as normal live people.

If it rattles around pots and pans in the middle of the night - okay, then we've got a problem. That's annoying.

I'd be all like DUDE!
