I would pay it if someone actually came up with something I thought was worth it. I can't imagine what that would be, but theoretically.

But most of the busker acts I have seen ---> their value to me falls in the 25 to 50 cent range. Not that I literally throw people quarters, but theoretically.

I just don't go is what it amounts to.
 
I have thought about trying the street performer thing. It wouldn't apply to Buskerfest as all the acts are formally booked and whatnot.

But just generally. I have had a couple of isolated experiences doing that in my life. It's do-able. There are some high traffic areas in Port Credit on weekends. It is a destination spot.

Who knows? I might just give it a shot some day. Firm up a little repertoire.

I think it's officially recognized now. I know my phone check speller accepts it. If you use"going to" it sounds like you have a stick up your ass.

I thought it would be fun to play guitar on the street like some of those guys. Not for money, just to do it, but I haven't. Seems like it would be a slap in the face of those who need the money. :dunno:
 
Yeah, I would only be doing it for the money - and I would be annoyed with any recreational yahoos.

Don't know how much money. I knew a guy who used to play in front of the liquor store in Halifax - made some decent coin. On the one hand he was a lot better than me (as an instrumentalist anyway) - but on the other hand that was, like, 30 years ago so seems like you should be able to make more now.

I could do a multi-instrumental thing. There must be a way to hook this keyboard to a portable speaker and get that into the mix.

Late in the season now though. I guess I could go out and just start wailing but I would want to prepare some stuff.

Seriously running with the idea of doing the street musician thing. Tentatively thinking next year's busy park season, assuming nothing lucrative pops up in the meantime.

Actually started a Word file with songs to polish. Entitled it, "Repertoire." Thinking a bit of an eclectic mix. This is what is on the file so far at this very early stage:

Hallelujah
 
It's a good things our bodies are as smell-proof as they are. Everybody carrying around loads of shit all the time. Imagine if you could smell it.

We're very close to a lot of smelly shit hella often.

I guess if bodies weren't so smell-retardant and you could smell the shit all the time we would just be used to it and it wouldn't seem so, like, holy fuck.

Still, I'm glad things are the way they are.
