"I have nearly 2000 friends on Facebook. I need you help. I have a friend that has stage 4 Cancer. I ask each one of you if you can to mail me a check for just $5."

he goes on to give both his address and the sick persons (who,unfortunately, will be dead soon)

im all for getting donations together... but do it a different way... set up a foundation...have donation sites set up would be way better than this... use your fb acct. to contact your friends to let them know about it...

this way sounds too much like begging to me... am i being insensitive here?

I set up a site for a friend of mine that was in a car accident last weekend that I had been posting on fb. I figure if people don't want to see it, they can block me.

see, thats how you go about it... set up something or have designated drop off areas.. the guy in question has been a golf pro around town forever...could easily set up donation boxes at every golf course in town...

Not really. If I have one bite, I'm screwed for the rest of the day. I bought a bag of candy when I was at the store on Thursday. It is now almost gone.

I might have mentioned this already but Jenny bought a new clothes iron a few weeks back. I kid you not, the instructions came with this disclaimer:

Do not iron clothes that you are wearing.

Actually I may have had my wires crossed there. Jenny did buy a new iron recently however I now recall that they talked about that warning not to iron clothes while you are wearing them on an episode of The Newsroom. I may have just been remembering that and there was no such thing with Jenny's iron.

Not sure. I'll have to ask her.
