I was listening to the radio as I drove over to Wal-Mart on my lunch and there was something very splashy involving Phil Kessel. Both sports stations were running with it. I kind of tune out with these things but I believe some reporter outright asked Kessel if he is uncoachable.

Kessel took umbrage.

Then all the analysts were off to the races giving their brilliant thoughts about what the answer does/doesn't mean and why it was/wasn't a good question to ask etc. etc.

Many zits were squeezed.

Keep saving 23 cents on a bottle of shampoo you pompous dumbass.

I heard an interview with Ron Wilson this morning and he is actively lobbying to get back in the coaching fraternity.

He has not worked since he got fired by the Leafs which is now a couple firings ago on their list.

Ron Wilson coached a World Cup winning team and won an Olympic Silver medal and took the goddamned Washington Capitals to a Stanley Cup final.

He has been on an extended break but now he's rarin' to go again. Maybe the Flyers would enjoy having Ron Wilson as their head coach.

well yeah, when I watched the show about Maple Leafs run up to the outdoor game last year I got the impression they were mostly ..uh, pantloads sounds like good description. Phaneuf, Kadri, Kessel, to lesser degree Lupul. Coach was definite pantload.

Feels like Toronto over the years like to bring a certain type of player in. Or maybe the culture of organization brings pantloadness. :dunno:
Still, I don't dislike them. They would be in my top 50% of all teams

Yeah, living here, they have become my least favorite team. Everybody else is tied for first (second-last?)

Then the Leafs at the bottom.

I've probably said this before.

The team itself is whatever. They have been horrible pretty much my whole life so it's hard to be mad at them. They're a punchline - that's about it.

But the nature of the continuous hysteria is so annoying that I really really want them to go away as much as possible. Ideally no playoffs. If yes to playoffs - as short a run as possible.

Of course I'm kidding myself. It's not like people stop freaking out about them just because their season is over. But a little bit I guess.
