I need more context. That is a fairly standard move if you are falling out of bounds with the ball and you want to retain possession. Bounce it off an opponent out of bounds.

However that looks like it might be being done on more of an angry/uppity basis. Looks like he has a teammate he could easily pass too RIGHT THERE.

Could be a straight-up beanball.
 
So Peyton Manning announces his retirement - no surprise - and apparently Maria Sharapova is doing the same. I don't follow womens tennis enough to know if I should be surprised. She seemed to still be near the top of the game when Genie Bouchard had her little moment in the sun a couple years ago. Genie kept running into her.

But I don't know what has happened since.

I just know that she (Sharapova) was a disgusting grunting water buffalo on the court.

So not retirement at all - she says she wants to come back and play.

"I know many of you thought that I would be retiring today but if I was ever going to announce my retirement it would not be in a downtown Los Angeles hotel with this fairly ugly carpet," she said.

It actually seems plausible, her story. That may be a first for me - someone gets busted for drugs and they have their reaction statement - and it does not feel like complete bullshit.

There is some drug they just made illegal in January - but she had been taking it for 10 years and didn't know the rules had changed.

She says she got the email but didn't bother to click the link with the updated list.

As someone who is pretty big on not clicking links, I kinda buy it.


Doesn't excuse all that grunting though.
