I recall the 1992 World Series. Blue Jays fans would sometimes attempt The Wave - which used to make some sense pre-1989 - at old Exhibition Stadium - which was a basic bowl - if you have to do The Wave, do it in a bowl - not some kind of multi-leveled multi-fragmented thing at the Skydome.

Meanwhile, at the Braves home games in Atlanta, fans did the Tomahawk Chop.

I'm an old poop, I realize it.

Okay so this is the WNBA - so who cares? - but still, can't help but wonder if this kind of advertising is the future of all North American professional sports.

Can't even tell what the hell team it is. The Lifelock Boost Mobiles?

I think there's only so much Americans will take. Endless war ok, but blasphemising the NYY jerseys, there will be riots in the streets.

America is many things, but at least we are not a colony of America :guitar:

Maybe.

Me, I see the American identity as being just as much about advertising as about endless war. It is amazing to me that all sports jerseys aren't already plastered with paid notices - and I feel sure it is only a matter of time before everyone looks like this:
