Francona explained that he spoke with Ellsbury during the second inning Monday night and gave the outfielder a heads up that the two would talk again after the game because the manager felt it was time to give Ellsbury a day off.

Not sure why he did it during the game. Only thing I could think off is he was trying to motivate him for Monday's game. I guess he thought he would play harder knowing he was going to take a day off the next day.

I don't have a bet. I know Schafer is playing tonight with Prado 2nd and McCann is 3rd and Freeman cleanup. This lineup is the best producing runs for Braves because of speed and timely hitting.

Last night they had Prado leadoff who is slow and then Heyward 2nd who is not suited for that spot.
