The Whitesox will probably want too much for him and the Braves won't make the same mistake like Texeira trade where they can't afford to keep him next year. Only way to take Quentin is if Whitesox take Lowe which they won't.

He has a guaranteed 15 million for next year. He needs to get off the books so they can have money to pay Hanson, Jurrjens, Heyward, Freeman, Prado etc not to mention Venters and Kimbrel. Braves are not the Yankees who can spend billions.

I think Jurrjens is the only one due a real salary bump

Prado is a Free agent after this year...

the Jones contract is really your only horrible one.... atlanta can afford to take on more cash here actually at the deadline....they don't need to dump at all

I'm thinking long term. Chipper is probably playing his last year and Lowe his last or maybe one more if he is not traded. Also the Kawakami contract is coming of the books this year. These contracts are more than 40 million per year and once they get off the books either this year or next year there would be money available to pay the youngsters in the future.

Pavy you don't have to pay those youngsters that much for bout 3 years. plus you have lots of other young talent that will make the minimum for 3 years as well...

braves are completely avg in their payrolll

and they will have no problem keeping the $ they are paying now, AND adding some money for the playoff run this year.....

AND they'll be able to pay the arbitration $ on all the young guys in 2013,14 ect....

you got these guys for 6 years each, no need to worry bout the $ now....

it would be a big mistake to trade Lowe right now
