Some people are suggesting the long game in play is now Toronto will bid for the 2024 Olympics, now that we have proven something or something.

At least the Olympics are a bit cool and interesting. At least I have a sense what they mean.

Are they worth the money? Doubtful.

Make Beijing the permanent host for the summer. Sochi for the winter. Those governments seem goofy enough to go for it.

There should be a Vatican of Olympic sports. Build a centralized worlwide training facility that also serves as the venue for the games.

But no. The main goal of the games is to enrich the IOC "nonprofit".

Boston just pulled out of the running for the 2024 Olympic summer games. Many considered them the favorite and now they aren't even bothering.

I don't know why. Greece seems to be going gangbusters since hosting the games.

Beijing selected to host the 2022 winter Olympics. It becomes the first city to host both a summer and winter games.

I was on to something here. This latest development is another step. Beijing will be the permanent home of everything.
