And yeah, I had no idea Bale was English. These actors who have to learn/fake accents are fokken impressive.
 
fukin kirk douglass, I thought I knew him. I though he really stole the show..... and a big risk on the part of ABC, the academy or whoever the decision makers are.


I knew Bale was not american, mostly due to his infamous rant against some off screen entitity a few years back, and his familial issues....

but still. when most of the films you see, show him with different types of N. American accents, you are always suprised when they show their true colors at events like these
 
I am finding this whole thing painful to watch. The hosts are painful, the presenters trying to be funny are painful, the acceptance speeches are awful.

Why do I watch? I have no wagers. Actually I only partially watch. I started watching but then I drifted away and cleaned my sinks and tub while kinda half listening in the background.

I was happy for Melissa Leo who brought back memories of Homicide, my favorite TV show of the pre HBO era, and her great character Kay Howard. Her actual acceptance was pretty bad although the F bomb goes a long way.

Anyway, now I am just waiting anxiously to see if they mention Glen Shadix in the In Memoriam segment.
