If you're excited about getting more involved in gambling and exploring whatever the casinos have to offer I would go to Vegas. If you're just looking for a place to chill with your family I would avoid Vegas.
Myself, I go there almost every month for a week or two, but I'm single, and the majority of my gambling is not sports related.

On the other hand all that immigration paper work bs sounds dreadful.

You can visit for 6 months at a time, without a visa, staying permanently is not so easy, unless you marry a Canuck.
