I wouldn't say great shape RJ but probably a lot better than most people my age on average. I raced mountain bikes, for fun, for a few years and am trying to get back into some sort of peak form this summer... I had a tendonitis problem for a few years but I've figured out the cause of the problem and now I am able to pedal again mostly pain free.
I ended up having to lower my bike seat a bit AND I have started doing some yoga; so far this season, I have not had any tendon pain... Hopefully I can drop the last 10 or so lbs...Im not too worried about the weight because normally it just comes down as I spend more and more time in the saddle. 6' 199lbs and dropping.. I was as low as 167 when I was at my fastest...No way I could get that low again, I don't think I even want to.

Rode the shit outta my new bike today.... It was hot as fuck but I didn't care. It climbs like a Billy Goat on LSD and descends a lot faster than i care to....The front brake is squealing a bit but i have to take it in for it's 1st checkup tomorrow morning anyway...

We (gf and I) went to Albion Hills Conservation Area this afternoon for a rip. She also has a comparable bike and is learning to ride technical terrain.... She was a monster; crashed 3 times....bleeding and still didn't whine one bit and still finished all the single track sections...

The best part about the day was that they are having a 24 hour marathon race there this weekend, so the course was already marked and we got to do the 'race' lap; Only there arent 1000 people on the course and it didnt cost us a penny because there was no one at the gate accepting the 'park free'.

All in all a great day riding....

Sounds fun, nice that the Gf enjoys these things with you and is such a tough cookie.

I picked up a similar bicycle to this one yesterday... $350 on Kijii... Brilliant.
No more excuses for not staying in shape in the winter anymore.

Did my first workout on the 'new' exercise bicycle today. I got it without a moment to spare...apparently I'm in horrible shape. I only went for 30 minutes today so that I don't shock my system too much.

Hopefully, over the next 8 weeks, I will lose the extra 15lbs that winter has brought.
