Maybe the smaller players don't bother locking them, but the 3 majors (Rogers/Fido, Bell, Telus) lock everything and typically brew their own OS/firmware. Rogers goes as far as blocking Internet access on non-Rogers IMEIs. Near-monopolies suck ass.
 
Droid is better than the iPhone if you're not a big music person. I can definitely get on board with that Mrs. X. But no smart phone does music like the iPhone. Not even close.


Mrs. X, I am a fan of women who are pro-botox. I realize that I will expire in a towering ball of flames reserved for me in hell for feeling this way but I've become comfortable with that.
 
Sprint is getting some good Android phones now. The browser is essentially the same as the iPhone browser. I think Android will handle Flash sooner than iPhone, but I may be behind the times on that one.

I don't think the iPhone will ever handle flash, MrX. At least that's the impression that I get...

My next phone will likely be a Droid. Android OS 2.2 currently has Flash capability.

Run away from both girls as fast as you can. They will both cause issues. Belly button girl sounds like a 16 year old.....that is the only type that I can think of that would send a picture like that.

Droid solves Bread's problems. Sprint has the EVO 4G which is an amazing phone. He should get that if he hates the iphone so much.
