Getting caught up on my TV watching. I am up to date with Better Call Saul. Damn good show.
I also finally started watching the new season of The Deuce. I was expecting something totally different. I was expecting The Chi. Kind of amazing how much I had forgotten about The Deuce's existence. Pimps/whores and cops and the porn industry in NYC in the 70's/80's. Maggie Gyllenhaal. James Franco as twins. Created by David Simon who did The Wire.
I had forgotten all about it but it's a thing and it's back. I believe where I left off last season was on the fence. The show has many obvious outstanding elements - but it is also almost plot-free and gets kinda dry at times. Anyway episode 1 of the new season was very good IMO. I have definitely taken a step away from the fence.
And I am still going with Kidding. Thoughtful show. It also has the occasional style element that reminds me of BCS - which is a compliment. Or maybe that should be the other way around. Maybe BCS reminds me of Michel Gondry.
It's classified as a comedy but it's only a tiny bit funny. But I love Judy Greer and it's interesting enough to keep me going.
