I watched the series premier of The Orville which, in the simplest terms, is Seth MacFarlane attempting his own Star Trek spin-off.

Here's the thing: while it attempts to be funny at times, it is definitely not intended to just be a comedy against a sci-fi backdrop. Macfarlane seems serious about doing the sci-fi and having the Star Trek-like plots/relationships/characters (with himself as the handsome, heroic Captain).

What you end up with is something that is not funny enough to be a comedy but not good enough at all that other stuff to be a viable sci-fi.

Well, maybe I'll check out another episode but I seriously doubt it will take.

And I watched the premier of The Deuce. It looks somewhat promising. Not sure if I base that on episode 1 or just the fact that David Simon who did The Wire is behind it. (But then David Simon also did Treme which didn't do anything for me.)

Not crazy about having James Franco playing twins but I am going to give it some time and see where it goes.

Who is the actor? Can you guess?

The Handmaid's Tale is fokked up. I can see how the 80's might have inspired Atwood to write that shit.

I assume Elisabeth Moss won some trophies for her performance. Intense stuff from her.

8.3 Matty Rains after 6 episodes

I just realized this is a brand new series. Thought it was a couple years old.

I predict some trophies for Ms. Moss.

She did it! :pope: Emmy for outstanding lead actress in a drama series.

Narcos Location Scout Shot Dead in Mexico

A location scout for the Netflix series Narcos was shot and killed while searching for locations for season four of the drama series.

His bullet-ridden body was found in a car on an unnamed dirt road outside Hidalgo which has the highest murder rate in the country, 12.2 per 100,000 inhabitants.

Speculation is that locals may have become suspicious after seeing him with a camera collecting information.
