Actually, the more I think about it, the prequel sounds like the better show. I might even check the premier out (Aug. 23rd).

There are probably not so many zombies. I believe it's about the origins of the zombie epidemic so it probably just starts with mysterious hints of zombie-ism in each episode. Maybe an isolated zombie here and there. Not just big packs of zombies everywhere.

While it wasn't my only problem with the Walking Dead, a big problem was I find zombies to be terrible characters. So large packs of them are large packs of terrible.

An origins series? Ehhh, probably not but maybe.

Finally got around to watching Citizenfour (2014) the most recent Oscar winner in the Best Documentary category.

Sometimes I like a movie where I can turn my brain off, but the best movies to me are ones that provoke thought.

This chronicle of Edward Snowden's whistle-blowing was the latter - in spades. I already knew a lot of what happened but still, this shook me up.

The issues are too huge to start discussing right here, so I will just say I thought it was a very good doc regarding a complex and nauseating situation which is far from over.

9 out of 10.

I can do that but I am paying all this money for all these channels - and I'd rather watch on TV. I can only watch torrents on my computer.

I watch plenny stuff on my computer but I was just wondering.

So upon investigation, it appears to be on Showcase - which works - but it does not premier till Sept.

Guess I d/l.

I learned that it has been renewed for a 2nd season fwiw.

Halt and Catch Fire, by the way, is not a bad show. I never hear much buzz about it - and I'm not here to actually buzz - it's not a spectacular show - but it has a quality. The second season has been better than the first.

It's interesting in the same way that Mad Men is interesting when it looks at the advertising industry at the time, or The Knick looks at medicine at the time.

Halt and Catch Fire is about the dawn of personal computers and the internet. You kinda project yourself into it.

It's interesting.
