I enjoyed the first episode of Humans and will definitely keep going with that.

The only problem it really has at this point is me. I have seen too much TV/Movies/books which go heavy on these same sci-fi themes, implications of artificial intelligence yada yada.

Nothing wrong with that as a subject. And it's not that this show is unusually heavy-handed.

It is just that there is only so much to say about it in terms of philosophical angles. I've heard it all. But they have to walk through it and lay down the foundation.

But other than a couple really obvious peripheral characters, it is interesting enough so far.

Continuing my rewatch of Homicide. It is not as good as I hoped and remembered. It has flashes of inspiration reminiscent of The Wire, but it also has a lot more eyerolls than I was thinking. There is no mistaking it is network fare.

But I will continue on with season 4.

Mr. Robot's premiere is solid. I'm a little scared that it'll go the way AMC's Rubicon did - i.e. the premise of the show seems too narrow to support a full-blown multi-season series. But we'll see.

Glad to see Christian Slater getting work again, the guy is good.

8.8 Matty Rains for Mr. Robot S01E01

Yeah, so Mr. Robot is continuing a trend where producers and writers throw the kitchen sink at the premiere and then they just revert back to tired old formulas. The show is too quick, way too plot-driven and has too many paper-thin characters.

This'll crash and burn before the end of season 2.

This is Homeland and Rubicon and Prison Break all over again.
