So what was this whole setup Malvo was working on? He was trying to get to some guy in the witness protection who apparently wasn't causing him any harm?
The elevator scene was interesting though. This is where film makers often fail. It seemed that the show might redeem itself when Lester pesters Malvo. Maybe there is some sense that will be revealed about Lester and his evil purposes.

Would have been a good place to put a twist. Perhaps make Lester some master murderer on par with Malvo by revealing some facts we didn't previously know. But no, he ultimately runs away scared providing no reason for why he even approached Malvo in the 1st place.

And now Malvo has to stalk Lester because what? He smacked him in the head and ran away?

I have heard people talk about it like it is the next chapter after the movie. No. Other than the unavoidable superficialities, it has no connection to the movie.

I am standing by my prediction that Gus is going to do something heroic though. I am backing off all other predictions - because they were based on sense and proper story-telling and that obviously applies less than I assumed - but I just feel like Gus has to stand tall before it's all done.

I kind of figured where things would go once he approached Malvo. Just incredibly stupid on Lester's part.

Would you guys have ran like Lester or would you have helped Malvo with the bodies?

Malvo wants to kill Lester because of Lester's new Macho Man attitude. Predators and preys - Malvo's not about to become a prey.

Lester obviously did the right thing by running.

Macho Lester wanted to show off a bit. He thought he couldn't be afraid of no man anymore. Then Malvo shot his frens and Lester was reminded how completely out of his depth he was.

Run Lester run.

I couldn't help but think to myself, I wonder of Lester could have helped him clean up the bodies and become frenemies. Not a realistic thought, but a thought that occurred non the less.

not bad Matty, makes sense. So what happens if Lester doesn't run?

He gets killed as soon as the bodies are cleared out of the elevator.

I guess you have a point though, he coulda shot him in the elevator. But he was hoping for some help to haul 3 bodies out.

Lester violated their twisted "friendship" by doing that.
