^^^shhhhhhhhhhh ... when people like a show, they dont like you calling out the parts/people that are completely retarded or basically suck... i found this out when commenting on the last season of breaking bad (which, compared to every other season, was awful... IMO)

It's pretty cheesy TV. Mostly saved by Martin Freeman.

Fargo has a serious problem of unevenness in tone IMO. They needed to decide if they were going to tell a straight-up story - like the movie - or run shtick and get into a lot of general absurdity.

I would prefer the former but either could be a legit choice. But instead they are living in some vague nether region. A few times it has been brutal like in episode 1 I recall a particularly harsh transition from some fluffy dopiness to Molly visiting the wife of the pregnant, just-murdered police chief - which was pretty much played as a tear-jerker.

It was jarring, not in a good way. There have been a number of instances.

I am enjoying it but it's definitely not an all-timer for me.

I think the unevenness you perceive is the direct result of Martin Freeman's acting brilliance. The rest of the cast is pretty ho-hum and the writing/directing is consistently cartoon-like.

Still a fun show.

Gotta say, I'm super-ticked here.

Some big stuff on TV for me this week.

Louis is back tomorrow - and presumably for several consecutive Mondays after that.

Then the final 2-week smackdown for the Jeopardy Battle of the Decades starts tomorrow and goes until next Friday when a champion will be crowned. Some of the biggest names of all-time will be head-to-head.

Noice.
