My 600sq ft, 1br + den condo sells for ~320k. A proper 2br, at 750sq ft or so, is around 450k. That's what we'll be looking at next year. You can't touch a rowhouse for less than 700k in the area. Detached is 7 figures.

the degree is property values from place to place always amazes me. My sister is selling her house. Had 2,741 sq. ft, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths with an acre of land and can't get $300,000 for it.

That's on my list, too. The PITA is getting the bike there. Rental of any decent bike is stupid-expensive.

I saw something shiny in my right mirror - thought it was my iphone at first. I was already planning to loop around when I realized that there was no key in the ignition anymore. ignition and key are so worn down that there is no force keeping the key in.

Without the key I would've had to ride home, use the engine kill switch, take out the battery then wait for my new ignition assembly to show up in the mail. Just bought a new one off eBay for 25 bucks.

You can get a similar mansion by driving just 2 hours north of Toronto. Woman's uncle bought a 2,500sq ft, 4br 2ba, recently renovated Victorian for $250k. Same thing in downtown TO? Add a zero.

The Chinese nouveau riche are killing us.
