Harmony is 30.

It was exactly her plan to get married and get pregnant a year later. (She got married last May. I'm sure this thread has many expressions of my angst during the couple weeks she took off for that.)

Big question now is, how do they cover for her when she's off - and will I be (asked to be) involved? I would be the obvious choice except that I am also desperately needed where I am.

But it would be a lot easier to bring in a temp warehouse guy to do what I do now than a temp Harmony which is a ridiculously complicated and cockamamie job.

No but seriously man, what will it mean to ME.

Apart from the cockamamie-ness of Harmony's job, I do not like the idea of switching to a job where I am sitting on my butt all day every day.

And they probably will want me to shift over there. The topic came up in conversation a couple times yesterday and it is generally agreed that it makes sense they will want to put me there and get a temp to do what I do now.

Hmmm . . .

So a while back, we had so much empty floor space that we asked one of our sister companies to move in so we could split the rent. That company has 70ish people. Filled most of the unused room. All was swell.

Today, they announced (by way of a laconic email) that they were dissolving the company as of Jan. 1, 2016.

We're gonna have to move before long.

:fok:

I mean good luck to the sackees and stuff.

I've got a lot of people at work making liberal use of the phrase, "Never heard of ya pal."

Is that a jjgold thing? Unfortunately, I suspect so.

Oh well, sometimes even the biggest tool can come up with something you can use.

A lot of mirth being generated with it, I tell you wut.

Possibly similar effect - and work related to boot: the one guy I work with brought his two little daughters into work. They could not have been more adorable. 4 and 7, I would say?

I particularly became friends with the 4 year-old. Every once in awhile she would surprise me and give me a laugh by calling me dude.

where did they get it from? I use pal all the time now, never used to. Although the never heard of you part sounds a bit cliche to me now.
I attribute my over use of "pal" to emulating Plommer. ... guess he was emulating jj :guitar:
