Yap.

It's kinda fucked. Now that they went ahead and deleted 2 full people from the warehouse staff, when one of us is away, there is no chance of all the work getting done with the 2 guys left.

But it is a situation we will be facing a lot as the 3 of us remaining humans have 9 weeks of vacation between us for the rest of the year.

It will be especially fun if someone gets sick or has a funeral or whatever while someone is on some booked vacation.

1 person will remain.

If that happens and I am the 1 person working, I intend to work naked.

So I've been helping customer service write their own support emails. Apparently, no one in customer service - which is done all over email - feels comfortable enough to actually serve customers. What they're comfortable enough to do is copy and paste pre-written emails. That they can do.

Sort of.

I get an email from the customer service team lead this morning saying:

You LOVE hearing from me... RIGHT? I saved your email onto my F: drive and look what happened. [accented letters all turned to gibberish]

I email back:

Do you still have the original file I sent over?

She replies:

Found it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And that's it. Crisis averted.

These people get paid decently for what they are unable to do without very thorough handholding.

I would fire 90% of my coworkers, and I consider myself a pretty terrible employee.

Took the day off today. I'm at home and on gamelive and whatnot.

Do you use a fax? When was the last time you faxed as part of your worklife?

About 3 months ago. Not really work-related, but I faxed papers to our daycare agency, they wanted JL's immunization records. By fax. :dunno:

I fax 2-3 times a year. Not sure why.

It *is* faster than scanning and emailing if you have and need a hard copy at both ends of the transaction.

So I go up to the 5th floor first thing this morning because they are drywalling and my minority worker put a couple things in the wrong spot and I wanted to fix them before drywall was hung. I did a walk through Friday morning but didn't have tools with me...meant to go back up but the day just got away from me.

So I had to take down some drywall in one spot and tweak few things. So it's 6:10'in the morning and I am working frantically. Meanwhile my minority worker is not even at work yet..holding a piece of metal in one hand and screwing it with the other...metal slipped out of my hand and spun with the drill. Cut the piss out of my finger and blood is everywhere pretty much immediately. So I put my hand in my shirt and think about what I should do next.
Mexican drywaller sees my dilemma and offers me some electrical tape...sweet...I tape it up and finish what I am doing.

On the way home I peel off the tape..such a fine cut its kinda like already healed.
