Hopefully the complex is about older guys who are completely fokked with their financial future and tend to spend less time outside than the average vampire and know a bit too much about the Simpsons.

For that complex, I'm in quote-unquote, "In like Flynn."

I did something really stupid and now I am going through my worklife feeling like a major pantload.

Ever do something stupid and then you feel totally stupid? That's me RIGHT NOW.

Probably being extra hard on myself. One could say it was a somewhat natural mistake. Others have done it in the past.

Nevertheless here we are.

Well it's like this: we got a big new printer/copier/scanner in Harmony's area. It's one of those major commercial units the size of a small car.

We had been a using a little desktop unit till now (and doing our scanning/emailing/whatev from the main unit in the central office). Well now we have our own do-everything unit.

Except it doesn't do everything. There is one thing it doesn't do - and I tried to do it - and I killed it.

Print labels. I tried to print an Avery label through this printer. It doesn't like that.

You get a paper jam and then you get labels coming unstuck from the page and attaching themselves to the roller ---> it's fokked.

Well let's not be overly dramatic - it needs a service call. Can't fix it myself. Well maybe I could but I'm not going to risk compounding the situation by disassembling this photocopier. So I set up the service call. In the meantime it is out of commission and we are back to doing what we were doing up until yesterday.

Not the end of the world but :fok:

Yeah I would try not to sweat that too much shit like that happens man - not like you spilled a cup of coffee in it. You'd think if they upgraded it'd be able to the labels if the old set up could? I'd tell the service tech Harmony spilled a cup of coffee in it.

Something about these big complicated machines I guess. We run labels routinely through the various desktops around the joint. I wouldn't have any hesitation to run a page of Avery labels through my printer at home which no one would describe as either fancy or schmancy.
:dunno:

I got sent home from work today. Perhaps thats not the right choice of words, I was offered to take the day off. I have no vacation left but they said I can take a flex day.

Not really a decision to be made there. Bye. Im home now.

There are changes happening with the computer system and they arent ready to go yet so there will be no orders so this is how they decided to handle it. Cancel the day. This is an example of why I dont see a future for the company. Theyre just so lame. Really nice but lame. There is so much that people could do but they just kinda throw up their hands. I mean, there is a lot more to the big picture than that; the bigger issue is the product and where we stand in the marketplace.

Whatever, its like a gift from heaven for me.
