I'm hanging out at Ikea while waiting for U-Haul to complete my hitch installation. I had an Ikea breakfast earlier. I'm allowed up to $95 a day in meals. I used $5 so far.

The other day my kid watched beauty and the beast. Belle's father is an "inventor." I couldn't stop laughing at that. Was that a thing? I guess it was in some bygone age... makes total sense that every inventor in every (disney) movie is considered crazy... historically, they probably were.

yes it was, like now the serial silicon valley entrepreneurs, one startup fails try again in another saas niche, back then inventors were trying to hit it big coming up with crazy idea after crazy idea, the original food canning preservation came from one such inventor in France around the time the original Beauty and the Beast story came out also in France so Napoleon's warriors could be fed, that same dude also invented extraction of gelatin from bones to make delicious jello (and later on beauty products), he also invented the seasoning cube bouillon which led to poorer people having better tasting meals than the boiled bland foods they were used to, the dude was an inventor

Inventing might not be a full time job but if you watch Shark Tank there are tons of people trying to build a better mouse trap
