Main goal is to find a place to live. My company is moving so I will be working at a new further-away place by ~April - so I have decided to move.

Gotta finda place.

So that is the top priority. Other than that, I have a few miscellaneous meetings and appointments. Other than that, lots of sleep and good eatin'.

Yeah my company is moving to a big new facility. Here is a satellite picture of it taken while I was having a visit.

It is further away. I knew they were moving when I took the job and I decided I would move rather than the long commute - so now it's time to make it happen.

Jenny is pretty good. She always has a few things that make her grouchy but that's just who she is.

I can't remember what exactly you would know about her. You probably know about the degenerative osteo-arthritis condition and all the joint replacements surgeries she has had. Doctors still don't know what the cause is and they just keep reacting to it when something breaks down. They don't know how to cure it. She is scheduled for a shoulder replacement at the end of this month but she has said she may not do it.

But then she may. I bet she will.

I just got home from an all night work call. We started at 11pm last night and are paid until 4pm. Not bad considering the only straight time hour was 11pm-12am; The rest was at double bubble.

We were loading out the musical Matilda. For some reason they had to load out the minute the show was over instead of waiting til straight time tomorrow.

Pay me showbiz

I don't remember if I knew that Jenny had osteoarthritis. I knew she had joint issues that required lots of surgery. I was diagnosed with that a few years back. They won't do any joint replacements on me yet, so it's chronic pain.

Yeah it just plain sucks.

The thing about joint replacements these days is they are only good for ~15 years. So Jenny is young enough - and you are even younger if you end up going that route - that the replacements will likely need replacing before all is said and done.

So there is pain - and surgery - and if the surgery isn't just right there can be more problems and pain - and then revision surgery - we've had that too - and then do it all again.

It's a cruel joke.

Sorry to hear about this Muddy.

Muddy, Teela, I work for an orthopedic surgeon. Osteoarthritis it just the wear and tear we have on a joint. If you have an injury to it at a younger age, that will allow arthritis to set up in the joint. I can remember an ortho telling my sister after her 2nd knee scope back in her early 20's that she would be lucky not to need a knee replacement by her 40's. There is no cure but the best thing to do it make sure you keep the joint moving as normally as possible. If you cannot take oral anti-inflammatory medication, ask your doctor for a prescription for some Pennsaid or Voltaren topical. It has diclofenac in it and you just rub it onto the joint and the medication goes right where it is needed. Pennsaid is awesome.

Look at you! Big place. Are they by chance going to help cover moving expenses?

Yes I recall that about her. Poor thing.

No they are not covering moving expenses and I don't expect them to. Well, I mean, I got over 5K in bonuses in December - so that covers it - but that was not the reason for the bonuses.

Whateva. I knew what I was getting into and I made my decision.

I wish I could just stay living where I am. Lots of people deal with an-hour-each-way commute. My sister has done it for years. But even the ~35 minutes I have now feels like prison to me.

Yes. Absolutely. That would be some dream-come-true stuff for me.

Which brings up the question: okay so what would you do with that time in the car? And, more importantly, can you do that now, while driving normally?

And the answer is: sort of.
