So seriously, though, this article is a trivial example of a real problem.

People who write about "studies" without bothering to find out if they're real studies, and not bothering to actually understand them, if they are real studies, are a big part of the reason that things like the anti-vaccination movement happen.

I suppose it was more of a "survey" than a study. In any case, the same people did this survey which shows that life begins at age 54 for men so buck up!

You know, I know you meant this as a joke, but recently I have found myself taking double takes at certain words, punctuation etc. I don't know if I have become less conscientious/more careless, or it is a factor of age, but I find it unsettling. The other day I looked at racket/raquet for a long while, and yesterday it was defense/defence. Those are a bit more understandable than most.
I think I found that I had typed that "I new" something recently. Maybe I had just mistyped or was in a hurry, but this is very uncharacteristic of me, and it is beginning to bother me...especially with the Alz gene in the family.
