I don't know you FiveTeamer, but as much as it sucks now (and I can imagine how much it does) take time to clear your head and go over your strengths. Believe it or not, even without a degree, jobs are available if you stay focused on your strengths. I am not sure how old you are, but if you are still young, that is always a plus as well. The hardest part about finding another job is doing the legwork. Job hunts are a lot like dating. If you don't get out there and hunt, you will always be without. Rejection may suck, but it's the ONLY way to the eventual reward. Good luck sir. I wish you the best.

unemployment benefits,

You mean EB.

We have EI - which is the federal program called "Employment Insurance".

http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/sc/ei/index.shtml

"Employment Insurance (EI) provides temporary financial assistance to unemployed Canadians who have lost their job through no fault of their own, while they look for work or upgrade their skills.

Canadians who are sick, pregnant, or caring for a newborn or adopted child, as well as those who must care for a family member who is seriously ill with a significant risk of death, may also be assisted by Employment Insurance"

Remember, we are pinkos up here - Canada has a social conscience.
