So sad! Unreal! People all want to say they went to Times Square at least once for the New Year's celebration, not me! Hope Trump don't get blamed for this one but probably gun control discussion will be out in the forefront again! I myself do not and never will go hunting and believe no American citizens should be able to own the number and type of weapons that people possess!

actually I'm in Vegas, was on the strip earlier today. Don't know much about what happened, been tucked away in a casino in Summerlin all night, going to bed shortly. ..Somebody said it was at Mandalay Bay :dunno: feels eerily too close for comfort

Worried about copycat shootings. I remember a car running people over on the strip not long ago too. Vegas, the last refuge :sparesomecutter:
Is nothing sacred anymore? The world is teetering on the brink, the brink!:robyn:

can't wait to see metal detectors and security everywhere in town

No its not. Mass killings have been happening for a long time, pal.

Remember that sick puppy that killed all those people at the McDonalds in California back in the 80s? And that other one and that other one?

I don't mean just this. Although shooting down on people randomly from a hotel room in Vegas Seems like a new one. And I don't know how you can guard against it.. ...But in general the recent politics and discourse I'm witnessing feels uglier and more on the brink. However, I'll admit it could be more to do with change in my awarness/views/age, than a change in objective reality

In 2012, Paddock sued the Cosmopolitan Hotel & Resorts in Nevada, saying he slipped and fell on a wet floor there. The lawsuit was eventually dismissed by a judge and settled by arbitration.

Reached by telephone, Paddock's lawyer at the time, Jared R. Richards, said he could not comment because of client confidentiality concerns.

Paddock kept a vacation home in Heritage Isle, a gated retirement community in Viera, Florida, from 2013 to 2015, said Don Judy, his neighbor there. Judy said gambling, online and in person, was how Paddock claimed to make his living. One time, he said, Paddock showed Judy's wife his laptop as evidence that he had won $20,000 in an online game.

"He never gave me any indication that he was strapped for money or needing money," Judy said. "He said he was a gambler by trade, a speculator."

I'm due to fly there on Saturday with my wife. I really don't know if we should go. Seems a tab bit disrespectful to go there, drink, gamble, eat and generally have fun. I know I shouldn't let the crazies control my life, but this situation has me in a bind on what to do. I am flying on air miles and I can't cancel or change to another location.

What should the Puckers do?

I'd go. the locals that work in the strip need business to continue for their livelyhood

maybe also you could give some blood?
