I agree he is a sniper, but he doesn't back check, he doesn't play a the body, and is a defensive liability. The Devils success has been about playing a solid team game, and getting great goaltending. Kovy doesn't fit into their past model, but maybe he will sell extra tickets, and maybe that is the cause of the signing. Lou know Broduer is on the way out, so maybe you get a team that runs and guns.

Parise in my books is a better all around hockey player and has more heart than Kovalchuk. When it's his turn to cash in, you can be sure he will want big dollars and I can't blame him one bit for wanting a large payout. I still can't believe NJ will pay Kovalchuk $11.5 million for 5 -6 straight years.

Kovalchuk is not a Crosby, Malkin or an Ovechkin. This contract is completely fucked up.

Parise is absolutely a better hockey player than Kovalchuk. Pure scorer, no. Hockey player, absolutely.

right...JVr dosent hit, not flyers material..Giroux is the better under paid player, hits,fights, makes plays, scores.

Papa you are a decent fella, but you need to sharpen up on your hockey knowledge if you wanna play with VD, Tully, Blitty and myself.

Entry level? Yes true.,..just saying he shouldda been in a flyers uniform when he was drafted in 2005
but Lets not miss the facts of what he is and what JVR is not.
