It's not "motivation", it's clearly designed that he'll retire at 38. He will have no incentive/motivation to play the last 6 years of the contract at 750K per. Obviously you aren't getting the concept of the front-loaded contract for cap-friendliness.

No, ovibouslly I understand the concept of lowering the cap-hit on multi-million dollar deals. Would you like me to explain the NHL's salary structure to you?

Did you seriously just say that Ilya Kovalchuk "bitch slapped" the Kings like the "pigs they are"? What the fuck are you, 11 years old?

You are cranky at me because I said that I think it makes you less of a fan to cheer when a goal is scored against your team? For starters, what do you care what other people think? You know how loyal/unloyal you are, who cares what I think? Secondly, I do believe that cheering when a hated rival scores on your team because you like the player does in fact make you less loyal of a fan than those that don't. I have nothing but respect for Scott Neidermayer and Teemu Selanne, but I don't cheer like a schoolgirl when they score on the Kings.

I, like many other knowledgeable hockey fans, can see the pitfalls of a contract like this and am happy not to have it. Get over yourself.
