Alright, if you will allow me to indulge myself...

This is a scene from that finale. Short setup - Gervais has gotten a sliver of fame. He's a B list celebrity and started being a dick to his best friend, the blonde over the last couple episodes. He gets on the British version of Big Brother (the original I think) with a bunch of other shitheads.

Wow, that's not the type of performance I thought he would even be capable of giving. I wonder if the series is available on our on demand feature.
 
Robs, I think I was a little harsh on Sarah Silverman. I feel bad. That first video was actually pretty clever. The more I think about her shucking up to the mic at the alter, the funnier that gets.

The second one I think you have to know the show a little bit to get probably.

I think she's got a lot of slapstick in her. Something like that. It's just not my style, but I can understand the attraction. That's probably a better way to say what I said (obvious or easy). It's unapologetically (?) goofy in that way.

The third video I think I might be predisposed to not appreciate because I'm actually a big Dave Chappelle fan. I don't know how to explain it. Seeing her reduce some of the most revolutionary skits and characters he played to the level of parody kind of rubs me wrong in a way.

Alright, I'm going to bed for real now. Just wanted to get that off my chest.
 
I should have put before the second video that the best part is the "Making new friends" song. It's so ridiculous....with the Chinese cat lawyer at the end? So random.

As for the Chappelle skit, Chappelle actually wrote and directed it. So she wasn't making fun, he was, and more than likely was making fun of the popularity of the characters and sayings that douchebags across America would repeat at the bar whilst high fiving their buddy.

Her show constantly has those "oh my God, she went there" moments. Highly offensive and very funny...to me, at least.

Few things come to mind.

1. We can all agree the Chappelle Show is excellent.

2. All the toilet humor in popular media is way out of line ridiculous. However the Family Guy bit when Peter challenges Michael Moore to a fart off is well done and concludes in harmony.

3. Sarah Silverman is good looking. And she'd be even more attractive if she wasn't so fucking annoying most of the time. That's not to say she has no talent.

Well, that obviously changes my perspective on the skit. Without knowing that it seemed like she was kind of taking a shot at Chappelle. which as I said wouldn't sit well with me. I should have figured Dave had a hand in it.
