I just watched that again about a year ago. I remember seeing it when I was a kid but didn't understand the content. It's a pretty good movie. Amazing that MS, who is a great actor, is responsible for bringing Emilio and Charlie into this world.

OK. Video One - I chuckled inside for a second when she shucked and jived to the mic in the church. It sounded kind of like I was clearing my throat, but it was a form of laughter.

The other two.... ehh. I would lie to you but I don't think you want me to do that. I got nothing from those even close to humor. There's just something about her comedy.... I can't put my finger on the word. Maybe "obvious"? I don't know. I'm also not a big fan of the type of stuff like the end of that 3rd video, when the fat lady has peanuts go up her ass and "George Washington Carver" sticks his finger in it, licks it and discovers peanut butter. Not only is that not funny to me, it's crass and disgusting. Just cheap/obvious/easy humor, imho. Personally I think YOU are much funnier than anything I've ever seen from Sarah Silverman.

I'm sorry toots. You know I love you, but on this we are at an impasse it seems.

I have a hard time with the body function stuff too, but that seems to be attached to almost everything I think is funny, so I sort of look the other way when that happens. Same with Family Guy, I typically love the show but I can't stand the constant fart jokes.

Charlie is the better of the two but that isn't saying much. MS was so intense during that movie he made me sweat.

Hey Robyn, this is the kind of TV comedy I like. If you have 8 minutes to spare and can decipher pretty thick British accents.... This is from the premiere episode of the now defunct HBO show "Extras". The shows were written and produced by Steven Merchant and Ricky Gervais, which for my money are two of the funniest people in the business currently.

I remember that show! We are having major problems with youtube videos...have been for a few months now. They start and stop constantly. So I am letting it load right so it will hopefully work. Is that Kate Winslet??

Extras wasn't the kind of laugh a minute show.... it had some real character depth and other things that make a great sitcom. But there were definitely moments in pretty much every episode that I would have to rewind a couple times to hear again because I was laughing too hard through the first or even second go.

No. He has not impressed me in any of his movies. The last one I watched was "The Invention of Lying", which had it's moments but isn't really worth the time. Extras was only on for 2 season I think and then they had an 1:30 finale that was fantastic, and Gervais gave what I honestly would call an Oscar caliber performance in. If you ever get a chance to pick that up in a video store or something it would probably be alright as a stand alone flick. It's better if you had followed his "journey" through the series, but still a terrific bit of television that will most likely die in obscurity.

Alright, if you will allow me to indulge myself...

This is a scene from that finale. Short setup - Gervais has gotten a sliver of fame. He's a B list celebrity and started being a dick to his best friend, the blonde over the last couple episodes. He gets on the British version of Big Brother (the original I think) with a bunch of other shitheads.

I will keep my eyes open for it. I know that he is very well respected in the industry. You hear his name all the time.

Have you ever heard of the show Pushing Daisies? We rented the first season and it instantly, INSTANTLY, became my favorite show. Brilliantly written with quick and clever dialogue. It's also pretty silly/quirky, but polar opposites of Sarah Silverman type humor.

Bread and I talked about Pushing Daisies. I actually really like it when it came out. Watched probably the first 8 episodes. I think I just got frustrated with the realization that he was never going to be able to...touch that girl.

Robyn. in that last Extras clip he takes a shot at American Idol. There's nothing wrong with AI, though. Besides, I don't think it was the gameshow aspect he was talking about. Just didn't want it to offend you. (I know how sensitive you are and all.)
