Yeah, I guess I can understand that. If you guys want more sports talk, I say start more sports threads. I won't complain even if they're in Hooligans.

Dunder: I dunno, this is the only site I can learn what Durito thinks of church. There's ESPN, CBS Sports, Fox Sports, et cetera et cetera for sports info. That's all I was saying.

I have checked out 8-10 sites/day for the last 10 weeks. From an outsider's POV, i don't see what the site is trying to accomplish. The main forum seems to be pretty active, which is good. I don't know how long you have been around, heard about it from some other posters. I know few here and few know me, not a bad thing - we all can benefit from new blood. I will check out the sports forums here.

You guys make me feel like such a queen. I'm here for the cutesy chit-chat and internet drama, myself. I like it when sports topic stay in their respective sub-forums and don't bother me.

But I will ask a question of the people who like to post in sports threads. With all the multitudes of websites dedicated to releasing sports info and opinion, is there really that much to be gained from hearing someone else rehash it on a forum?

The sharing of ideas is always good. Not everyone is watching the same games. Rogue, you know that the weakest lines will be on the non-national tv games.

If you guys want more sports related threads, start them! Goodness gracious golly gee. :punches:

For what? To see them fall off the first page with five views and no replies? I feel sorry for Polaroid. He puts so much work into his writeups (which are generally very solid) only to be vastly unnoticed.

And as far as RS's point of "rehashing" data, handicapping is far more involved than comparing a few widely available team/player statistics.

Agreed.

Jello and I began to get into a discussion about my contrarian style of capping baseball games (which doesn't rely nearly as much on conventional wisdom as some other styles) the other day but I knew from the beginning that it would be just the two of us having the conversation. Who was going to discuss a contrarian capping style when the hottest thread on the board was Devilwoman vs Mrs.X?

Don't get me wrong, I like Mrs. X. She's a nice addition to gamelive but as Dunder stated, a better mix would be nice because at the end of the day this is a sports handicapping forum.

depends on the mission statement....... even then..... you still gotta leave it up in the air for another 6-18 months

is there a mission statement? if not, lets spend the next 6-18 months coming up with one.... and the next 6-18 figuring out if we are on point.....

in the mean time, I'm willing and able to help Roguey and others in any way requested to help the bottom line

You mean more unicorns, kittens and sparkles wouldn't be helpful? Hmmmm...weird. I'll try to be less interesting for the cause.

Damn, and I was just about to post some pics of my boobs.

Such a small group right now that there might only be 2-3 people discussing a sports related idea? I'm gonna make a conscious effort myself to be more sports minded. Maybe some of us are expecting too much discussion sports wise 3 months in? I don't know?

I just did a quick scan of the front page. Under the stickies there are 30 topics of which ~16 are about sports/industry (subject to some interpretation).

I am less interested in sports than that and would prefer the ratio to be more like 14 out of 30.

Just in case anyone is wondering.

I really hope you didn't take my post personal. You and Mr. X are awesome. I wish I hadn't used your name to pad my cause but it just came out that way.

I'm sincerely not dissing the fun, chatty threads. I would just like more balance that's all.
