Talking about the new series on AMC.

I have watched the first two episodes. I don't know what to think.

It is very slow in developing. I don't necessarily mind that; I can appreciate patient story-telling - but it has been two episodes and I don't even know yet how I would answer the basic question of what the show is about. There is not much to sink your teeth into.

I think I am a bit leery after the bad LOST experience, where the whole ridiculous show was all about creating really pointless mysteries that are never solved. Rubicon seems to be lobbing out a bunch of hazy mysterious stuff - at least hints of it - that reminds me of LOST. Hopefully it will ultimately have a better pay-off.

I intend to keep watching for now.

Muddy...i was actually going to start a thread about this after watching the premier. I am not really sure what to make of it either. I didn't watch the 2nd episode yet but I am not sure if I am even going to. I know that it is an AMC show and they don't really go wrong with their stuff but I don't know.

Everything seems too weird and connected for me. I lost interest in LOST after a couple seasons...I don't want to be invested in this waiting form something to happen just to be disappointed.

I agree it has the potential to blow LOST away. That's why I'm going to keep watching. It could be great. AMC has certainly earned a lot of goodwill with me after Mad Men and Breaking Bad.

The one thing I wonder is if it will last. I could see a lot of people dropping it pretty fast. And it's not the kind of show that people will want to join in mid-stream, I don't think.

yap, totally agree muddy. it sorda seems as if they have already given a bit too much away...(the group meeting and all) and its gonna get old if the guy has to look over his shoulder everytime he leaves the house.

i have been watching Persons Unknown and totally loved it up until the last week or so...some shows are just destined for 1 season and out

I watched the 3 episodes late last night. I like. Obviously you have to suspend any desire for instant gratification.

Now if this turns out to be another abortion la LOST I'm good for the loony bin.

Monkey, it's cryptographic suspense/drama. Give it a try.

Sure there is stuff being shuffled around but what does any of it mean? What is the company they work for? Should I like anyone? When is Miranda Richardson going to start kicking ass?

No, I'm good with it so far. As I said, I intend to keep watching. I taped episode 3 last night and haven't seen it yet.

Okay, MattRain, guide me. If I feel the same way about Lost that you do, should I give Rubicon a try?

Give it a try - AMC doesn't seem to try and please the unwashed masses like ABC. Plus I don't think you can Jesus your way out of a cryptographic mess.

Maybe some Americans can.
