Honestly, this greedy indecisive fuckwad and his agent are total jokes.

Stop haggling for money that no one is going to pay, you fucking idiot. Pick a team and sign, or quit the fucking sport. You are not worth what you think you are worth, or what your agent told you you are worth.

I haven't followed the story, but aren't agents responsible for 90% of these contractual hold-ups? These guys have expenses too you know, handful of mortgages to pay, illegitimate children to send to private school, hookers to seduce with cocaine and chartered yachts, etc. Kovalchuk could be the selfless one here.

Indeed, the agent has a lot to do with it. But at some point, enough is enough. In the hard salary cap era, you can't sign to a max contract AND have a competitive team built around you. You either have to compromise on the money, or sign with an Atlanta or Islanders for 10mil/per and put up great numbers without competing for a cup. His choice... he can't have his cake and eat it too.
 
Dave, IMHO the Islanders aren't much farther off from the Kings in competition for the cup, and the Thrashers just made some big moves that might put them in that same realm. Btw I don't consider the Ducks much better than those teams either...
 
Monkey, although I have done all that tourist stuff before, I did it again with my buddy for his first time here. I've been pretty busy being a host and looking for a place at the same time. I will update everyone with my status once I get settled in..

The Islanders have no goaltending. Same with the Thrashers. Ducks are stuck with Blake. Sad!!!
 
Kovalchuk is holding up the UFA and trade market. Once he signs with an NHLteam things should start happening on trade/signing fronts. I need me some hockey news. I need to see what happens with Kaberle. Leafs are lookin like a much improved team and with the return we get for KAberle and 1 more signing we should be able to compete for a playoff spot.

I hope all teams take a pass on Kovalchuk to teach the greedy fucker a lesson.
