Fok HR departments, fok them in the ass.

There are websites *wink wink* and books out there that will help you sleepwalk through the predictable behavorial questions. The trick is to not roll your eyes.

-Tell me about a situation where your personal ethics/values were challenged. How did you deal with it?
-I just went ahead and fudged the numbers. Don't give a shit. I've been called morally bankrupt before.

:bashing:

One way I made customers happy was by not pooping in their freight. They liked the poop-free shipments very much.

My spidey sense is telling me you aren't very confident about getting this gig.

Muddy, get your Ontario class B drivers license and I can get you a gig with me here in Rocanville.

Muddy, I'm just trying to help, pal.

I'm in the middle confidence-wise. The first part of the interview where we talked about my work history and the details of the job they are hiring for went great. Couldn't have been much better.

The behavioral-based part was off-putting but I would think it is for a lot of people. Not sure what to think.

You probably did better than you think. The behavioral questions are just there so HR can screen out psychopaths. The manager who needs to hire and has the final word doesn't give a shit about these.

Going into the interview, I wasn't even sure I wanted the job and I was thinking I would prefer something part-time.

Today is the 1st of the month which is always accounting day for me. Having had a gander at the current state of my finances, yeah, I definitely want that job.

Muddy how you explain not having a job for 10 years?

On my resume, I list having my own business from 1991 - present (which is true). I have a detailed, partly true story of how it evolved over the years, sometimes as a side-gig, sometimes full-time. I have some plausible sounding details I talk about to cover the last 10 years. Songwriting, sports writing, various jobs for internet forums. I've got it worked out pretty well - in a way that can't really be checked - to explain how I have made a living and why it is no longer viable and I am now looking for regular work.

I also list on my resume, the company that I have been doing volunteer work for from 2002 - present. I don't say it's volunteer work on the resume hoping that it will be seen as a conventional job. When there is a discussion of details, I frame it as a regular part-time job that pays x dollars per day - except I always declined to be paid because I preferred to donate my time to the good cause. That is true - (although I exaggerate the money offered a little bit). The guy that owns that business is willing to be a glowing reference for me both in terms of work dimensions like reliability/organizational skills, and also character.

thank god for gambling
I couldn't take five minutes of that bs without calling them every name in the book. They better be paying six figures if they expect all that shit.

Sounds like they could use a stiff analing from Shanty.

I actually did that when I interviewed with SynCrude back in the early 90's. I couldn't handle their shit during the interview.
