reno isnt hating on the disease. he is question whether the charities spend their money properly. after having lymphoma and raising lots of money for the lymphoma society i was not real happy with seeing what they spend their money on. there hasnt been a new drug developed for the type of cancer i had in nearly 50 years.

This sucks cockmunching arse. There's no other way to say it. But the only thing I can think of is that all of us would scream and shout if 5Dimes Tony ran away with our cash tomorrow. Why don't we feel the need to do this now?

Because a lot has to do with the government being in bed with the drug companies. Just because a new drug hasn't been created Durito, do you feel that we should stop giving to that cause and to another because its more more successful? Of course not, if this one means a lot to you.

The silly thing is that the place I give the most money to each year deals with battered women. There's no cure. No one's going to come along and make the problem of men belting the shit out of women go away. Ever. (And yes I know women also do it to men but I'm referring to where I donate to.)

However, I still give cash every year. And I always will as long as I have it to give. If my money means that the organisation can afford people to even just counsel those women, then so be it.

lets just stop with the hype and slogans. Treat people as though we have brains. Explain to the public what can/needs to be done to help and be specific.
It feels like the charities are just another business creating hype and feel good baloney off of someones misfortune.

The biggest hype is the charities that you see on TV (PETA, Jerry Lewis telethon, religious, starving kids). Walkathons are far from that.

No of course not. I dont remember specifically what it was that bothered me about the L&L society. But, i still think its a good cause. Im just venting because i feel like shit these days, probably as a direct result of being pumped full of chemicals (like mustard gas) 10 years ago.

I have a couple of friends both going thru Hodgkins right now. They have their good/bad days.
