I like this Jays team. I got a good feeling about the clutchness of these guys.
That was the thing about their 10 year run up to their World Series in 92-93. In the early-mid 80's, they had a bunch of guys who were good in the regular season but always slipped in the stretch run or the playoffs. Guys like Barfield, Moseby, George Bell, Upshaw. They weren't chokers exactly - but they just wouldn't rise to the occasion. Late September - October ---> they shrunk.
It wasn't until we got Alomar and Molitor and a few other guys (Maldonado, Devon White, Dwayne Ward, Pat Borders) - guys that seemed to enjoy the spotlight and thrive in it - that we went all the way. I get a good feeling about Tulowitzki, Donaldson, Russell Martin. Bautista better be clutch as hell, the way he has run his mouth at times. But I give him full credit: so far he is stepping up.
Remains to be seen though. This is only August.
