If you're talking about stats, I don't have much else to say. Sports stats nerds are not completely wrong. They are frequently spinny and, all too often, obnoxious - but there is usually some logic behind it.

Stats can be picked at, no question, but my position is: ehhh, whatever. It's just stats. People talk about batting average - or goals in hockey - or QB completion percentage ---> I could analyze the fuck out of those things and find flaws all day. I really could. I just don't find it interesting or worth half an inch of mental real estate. I know what those stats mean and don't mean - I can talk to many sports fans and be speaking the same language - good enough.

Some people care. I can't relate but people have different interests and priorities. I'm sure most of my interests have billions of people who can't relate to caring about them. That's alright.

Before this 8-game road trip began, many talking heads were saying if the Blue Jays can go 4-4, they'll gladly take it.

That's what a good team should want: .500 on the road. They'll be facing respectable opposition so winning half those games ---> positive result. So they said.

My thinking was, shut up. I get it. You're trying to be all wisely conservative. Now shut up.

If you are vying to be the best - if you want to be better than everyone - which I think should be the attitude with this team - and I think the players see themselves that way too - you have to hope for - and expect - better.



Currently 5-1 with a couple games to go. Price on the mound tonight.

I might actually watch a couple innings. I still see way too many bandwagon jumpers around here. Fucking Lizards!!!
