I wonder what happened with Dylan Strome. Guy was a big deal 2 drafts ago. Taken ahead of Mitch Marner I believe?

He was part of the 2nd wave of prospects after sure things, McDavid and Eichel. A lot of Buzz. Big solid centerman.

Now playing for Erie. Does not seem to have progressed like everyone else.

Guy won't RIP until the Leafs win another cup!

F the Canadians and their fans ..... today, tomorrow, 4ever!!!

It's Canadiens. French shorthand for French Canadians.

Muddy is a Canadian.

Max Pacioretty is a Canadien.

Carey Price is a Canadian Canadien.

It's not that hard.

5-2 Canadiens tonight, book it. #HabsNation

Who me? It's complicated.

We grew up Habs fans, my brother and me - with the Yvan Cournoyer and Ken Dryden posters on our walls. Playing road hockey we were Guy Lafleur and Big Larry Robinson and Henri "the Pocket Rocket" Richard. Hardcore fans. Jean Beliveau.

My first thought when I woke up in the morning was that day's Habs game and they were thrilling and, more often than not, successful.

I still have all those memories. You say a name and a vivid picture comes to mind. Serge Savard, Steve Shutt, Yvon Lambert, Pierre Mondou, Guy Lapointe. The Big M and the Little M. It's all part of who I am.

Anyway somewhere around the mid 90's I started losing all my sports fandom. For club teams anyway. It's complicated. Anyway, I have not actively cheered for the Habs in a long time - but my brother remained the most loyal unwavering fan all these years. So upon his death, and given how well they are doing, I have sort of taken up their cause for the year.

But it's not like I'm sitting down and watching whole games or anything.

It's complicated.

I'm considering picking Calgary as my team to root in. I like their drop pass play. We actually have somewhat of a history, going back to the knocking off the Oilers in '86, my future bet on them in 2004(?) and we even had the Colorado Flames at one time. :guitar:

Plenty of Montreal names in your post but not one Leaf name! Hmmm!!!

Leafs have been my least favorite team my whole life. Yes, they have been a joke of a team most of the time, but I hardly care about that. The problem is the bombardment of annoying coverage. Hysterical dipshit fans.

Funny thing is, I could see myself settling into becoming a Leafs fan for my declining years. I feel myself becoming more and more of a simple, conventional, root-for-the-local-team guy. The Blue Jays are right back at the top of my sports priorities. I cheer for the Raptors just because, I dunno, they're right there. Seems like a lot of people I like are cheering for them.

I like the people in the Leafs organization now. I like them a lot actually. Babcock, Shanahan and Lamoriello. Cheering for Mike Babcock has become a bit of a habit after the last several international tourneys.

:dunno:

Yeah, there is no way that Habs fans and media coverage of the hockey team in Montreal are as fanatical and annoying as Leaf fans (and the local media) in Toronto.

Montreal only has one pro sports team to cheer for. Toronto has 3.
