I guess that's my problem. Fuck anyone who is needy. You shouldn't need my support to do something you wanna do. And yes, I'll probably die alone. But I'd rather die alone than waste my fuckin life arguing about showing up to some ridiculous fuckin 5k when the girl told me I could finally get some time for my fucking self.

Put me on the die alone list too. I'm always going to be a straight shooter. If I ask her if she wants me to be there for something and she says yes, then I'm there. If she says it's not necessary, then I'm not going unless I want to. I guess that makes us assholes Focker. But I can live with being an honest asshole if that's the choice over being phony and playing stupid head games.

I think I'm going to start adding this to the end of whenever I tell someone my age. "I'm 36, and I will die alone."

The other day I saw an old friend's mother and she was out with a group of people. After a few perfunctory comments, she asked me "So how many kids do you have now." I replied that I have none and she said that surprised her, and asked if I was married. I said, no....happily unmarried. Anyway, I walked away and stopped back a little later and in the course of conversation one of her friends says "but you are in the 28-32 year old range, right?". I said.... a little outside of that. She said "34?". I said..."mmmm. Close enough (bitch)". My friend's mom then explained that when I said I was single their minds starting working on who they could set me up with. Fair enough. The only thing is when I stopped by one last time, there was no mention of this girl they were considering hooking me up with. I guess I'm too old. Oh well.

I'm 36, and I will die alone.

I get that, but why when he asked did she say that there was no need to go.
We men deal in absolutes mostly, no means no.

It's weird, isn't it? I don't know why most women are like that, but they are. I say most because I am not one who does that, so I really don't know.

Because when we tell you its no big deal in our language, translated to manspeak means "It means a big f**king deal" and you should be supportive and encouraging. Then we will brag to all our friends, relatives and strangers about how wonderful and thoughtful you are and how we are lucky to have you.

I don't agree with this. I think women do it because they don't want to appear demanding and needy. It's just as stupid as when asked "What's wrong?" and responding with "Nothing". FAIL!

Robyn, I really like what you did with your hair tonight.

See? Someone gets it. :bashing:

Might have been as simple of an explanation as just that time of month? Or did someone mention that already? :dunno: MrsMonkey just flat out tells me right from the start that she has it bad so watch out. Like the heads up, but still so stupid I can't keep my mouth shut. :banghead:

I don't know her personally but her reaction does not surprise me. She wants to feel supported despite what she might have said. She wants you to support her because you really want to, not because she instructs you to.

To be honest, I was expecting you to say she was mad because you got her a gift card rather than a personalized gift.

I am with you in that I recognize the contradictions in her actions. But sometimes that is part of the deal. What can I say?

Women.

Mudcat has really figured out broads and in turn, life...
