FD official statement.

The New York Attorney General has sent a letter asking for daily fantasy operators, like FanDuel, to cease and desist operations in the State of New York.

Fantasy sports is a game of skill and legal under New York State law. This is a politician telling hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers they are not allowed to play a game they love and share with friends, family, coworkers and players across the country. The game has been played legally in New York for years and years, but after the Attorney General realized he could now get himself some press coverage, he decided a game that has been around for a long, long time is suddenly now not legal. We have operated openly and lawfully in New York for several years. The only thing that changed today is the Attorney Generals mind.

There is a process by which hasty and uninformed opinions can be challenged in a court of law, which would allow DraftKings to not have to cease operations in the state of New York. We will pursue this fight to the fullest to ensure that New York fantasy sports fans do not need to stop playing the games they love.

This is the commercial that killed it

The government was on the edge of legislation and this is the straw that broke the camel's back. Too many Fight club similarities in it and Norton's voice. The next thing you know you have a bunch of degenerates walking into their boss's office and punching themselves in the face to try to recoup the $40 they lost because Brandon Marshall didn't get 4 receptions.

It had to be stopped.

At least with the online poker there was the scapegoat to make it illegal of the whole Superuser bullshit and countless other who did the same, along with players colluding, etc. I still think it should be legal but it's hard to argue those points.

In fantasy sports, what? How could anyone cheat without the fix being on players, which I don't see happening in the US on a Professional level.

It makes no sense to outlaw it.

Sincerely,

Captain Obvious

1% of FanDuel players win the vast majority of money on FanDuel.

It is a game of skill. * Tron does not play Daily Fantasy Sports.

More accurately 1% take the majority of the big jackpots.

The problem for the noobs is they want to go after the biggest pots when they can grind out some good winnings by playing 50/50 leagues.
