Everyone keeps showing the stat that something like 340 people have died in 10 years from tasers....what they fail to mention 90% of those people had a controlled substance in their body...true story.

There's a good chance that yahoo had a controlled substance in his body. Tazing seems a little harsh, but I'm not against it in this situation, I guess. But even if punching, kicking and dragging would have hurt him more, it's a little creepy to be bringing a weapon into the mix. It's feels like the first steps of desensitization. In time it's possible we won't find it strange to see machine gun toting guards standing point.

Whoever said it up there....agreed, tazers are mainly for the weak and lazy.

And, who wants to talk about oil spewing into the gulf of Mexico. Not me man. Too depressing.

Tazing drunk ass hats, now there's a topic I can get behind.

nope read more about it today...it was a 17 year old kid. He had no booze or drugs in his system. He is a highschool senior and is going to Penn st next year. He called up his dad and said "Can I run on the field? " His dad responded with "I don't think that is a good idea stay put...don't do it."

His response was "but it is a once in a lifetime opportunity, I think I might do it."

And so he did....

Just a little more to the story for those who care
 
I really don't care what they do to people with clothes on, but when it comes to naked dudes running on the field, I think the cops should be forced to tackle them. There is no greater spectacle than watching the awkwardness of a cop forced by duty to tackle a naked drunk running all over the field. Hopefully, they get a well-deserved face full of man-ass in the process.

Tasers have made cops lazy.

It used to be, that cops would have to actually exert some kind of effort, maybe throw a punch or two, take a punch or two, now, they just tase anybody who looks at them cockeyed.

If you can't

A) Distinguish the difference between a THREAT and a NUISANCE you probably should not be operating a device that has killed hundreds of people, let alone actually be a fucking officer of the law.

B) Outrun a 17 year old kid. I thought there were physical requirements in order to be an officer? This sack of shit looks like he should be behind a desk.

If that was me that ran on the field? I'd rather be tackled by 3 cops and take a few clubs to the head and have a couple of knees in my back than be tasered any day of the week.

Save all that shit about excited delirium, drugs in the system, yada yada yada for the fucking lawyers at Taser Inc.

I should have said in situations like this tazers are for the weak and lazy. It just seemed extreme to taze a drunk jerk off. There are lots of situation where a tazer would be the best choice, but a fat, over zealous rent-a-cop trying to run down a teenaged idiot didn't seem like one.

I'm not an expert by any means. Just my gut reaction.

I wonder if you tazed a guy wearing a bomb if the current running through his body would ignite it, assuming the taser actually misses the bomb...

There is the potential for danger there should someone with violent intentions stage something like that.
