Do you like it or do you just do it for fitness/health reasons? I'm undecided, although I mostly think if I had a "perfect" body, whatever that might mean, and knew lack of exercise would not affect it, I most assuredly would not.... I enjoy the accomplished feeling when I'm done, but plenty of other things I would rather be doing. I only do cardio stuff right now...walking, biking, swimming...aim for 4-5 x a week, end up with 2-3x a week usually. I don't know....lately seems like a chore to drag myself in there...

I keep myself in very good shape I believe. It's important to me. I do not enjoy any kind of formal working out, but I make sure to get exercise basically every day - multiple times some days.

Most common thing for me in good weather is biking and walking. I don't like to just go in random circles; I really need to have a destination - a mission - so I bike or walk over to the grocery store as soon as I need like 2 things. That's about a 20 minute proposition. There are a few other things I bike to. Jenny's place and back is a nice little circuit. I probably get 20 minutes exercise of that sort 7-10 times a week in good weather.

Bad weather is much tougher. I have to force myself to work out inside. Don't enjoy it but I do it (always with something on TV). Swinging dumbbells around, some ab stuff etc.

My last couple jobs were physical enough that I never had to give exercise any thought. It was all taken care of. I'll soon be working again and that will probably be the case again.

I would work out way more if I had the time. I do little ten minute work out at the end of the day, and some times more if, again, I have time. Autumn is my favorite time for outdoors stuff...so I'll likely be dragging Bacon to walk with me or go hiking.

Mud....but do you LIKE it? Or do you just do it because you think it's good for you (which it is.) BTW, you have simultaneously made me feel very lazy yet very inspired.

Cami. Agreed. I don't know how people who work 8-5 have it in them to work out regularly ..especially if they have kids. I know when I had a "normal" job, I would get motivated for a few months at a time and eventually give up due to lack of time.

 thats how I feel, add swimming and hockey But I still dont get enough exercise. Gonna be tough as it gets cold especially

You need to give him more than 10 mins Cami.

Well no duh, that's hard through when you don't get done work til about 7 or 8, have yet to do laundry, and clean the house, and get a shower. I do what I have time for, and usually ten or 20 minutes while dinner is cooking is all I've got if I stand a chance and spending time with Bacon before bed, not to mention after working an 11 hour day...I don't have much energy for anything.

Yeah, no, definitely not. Don't enjoy working out at all. Do enjoy being in shape so I pay the (generally unenjoyable) price.

So if you could be guaranteed being in shape and healthy for the rest of your life without any physical exertion would you still work out? I guess not. Me either. I'm just trying to understand the people who are of the mindset that there is something inherently fun in working out. Some say it makes them feel better mentally/helps with depression. I imagine there is something to do that...but I don't find working out fun per se.

I would not work out if I didn't need it to get to my fitness goal, no. It is an unwelcome chore for me.

Only exception I can think of: for a lot of my life I played organized sports and I got a lot of enjoyment (with incidental exercise) out of that. It's not completely out of the question I could get into something like that again and I would have a mostly positive attitude about it I think.

But it's been awhile.

I know what you mean about people who like the actual working out. Not me. Not at all.

i think people who dont work out much, but want to work out more, need to introduce more stress into their lives... stressful job like Daftys or date asian broads like me...both get the job done in the stress dept.

Baconator, I order you to start helping Cami out by doing the laundry, dishes and cleaning the house. Don't let us down , Pal.

Pucky, I'll get my chores done today, and tomorrow take off work early to work out, which I hate doing though because 6-8 are prime calling hours. These days I try to go for 5-7 cold calling. I'm sure I will eventually find a routine that works for me...it's just by the time work is over....I'm so.damn.tired. like really, tired.
