NYC is ultra congested. Subways. elevators. Everyone on top of each other.

No doubt it is! Though look at how the two states compare with population density! Pretty much identical even with land area too!

Well sounds like NY has NYC but not many other cities that are clusterfuks! FLA though has enough congested cities/towns that aren't remotely close to NYC's size! So we perceive NY state has plenty more cases than FLA due solely to NYC area! Though the stats beg to differ!

Going by sites worldmeters for state and city health for NYC ..... it shows 345,817 NY COVID cases while 178,766 NYC cases! Simple math shows then 167,051 NY cases outside NYC! Compared that to total FLA state cases totaling 40,952!

So I coming up without congested NYC's cases, NY state still has over 125K more cases than FLA! Fascinating! Even though going by state population, FLA residents are closer together than the rest of NY residents minus NYC!

Only conclusive guess I can come up as one of the reasons for FLA doing better presently than NY is leadership decision making.....
Gov DeSantis >>> Gov Cuomo

restaurant in Denver suburb opened yesterday defying the orders. Had crowds of people tightly packed.
Sounds a bit much, but I'm happy to see that people aren't as docile and cowardly ultimately, as portrayed in media.
Perhaps if our fearless leaders set out a viable plan after an open debate, instead of fear mongering people indefinitely, this would be less necessary

Men have high levels of enzyme key to COVID-19 infection, study finds
LONDON (Reuters) - Men’s blood has higher levels than women’s of a key enzyme used by the new coronavirus to infect cells, the results of a big European study showed on Monday — a finding which may help explain why men are more vulnerable to infection with COVID-19.

A cheque you say eh coolie? Do you look forward to the day when the USA discovers and then implements "direct deposit" for sending funds?

Checks, JFC, next thing you're gonna tell us is that the country that leads the free world has just discovered the metric system.

America = is it still 1976?

nah pal, the electronic cheques (ooh), came out 1st. That's why I'm surprised mine arrived so fast.
I don't go out of my way linking all my shit to all the other shit. :dunno: Guess I'm old fashioned.
When I'm dead you guys can link your asses directly to the outlet, and you'll never have any need to leave the house. :hattip:

actually since the bank is closed inside, I'll probably try going to one of those stupid drive through machines, where you put stuff into a capsule that gets sucked up in there somehow. :mudcat: maybe better to use the atm :dunno: don't think I ever deposited a check that way before though

congrats on your $, Reno.

now quite boomer-ing up the thread.

Blue Angels are flying over Chicago today. Things have been so boring, i'm actually already really looking forward to it.

Tuesdays are always the highest death count days for CV. Let's hope we finally turned a corner and we stay well under 2k deaths. 1800 or 1600 would make me feel very good.

Mostly comparing same day measures week to week. Our big cities are going down fairly rapidly and the rest of the country is staying the same or going up. Regardless if this is the first break through tuesday, positive tests have been consistently decreasing so there is for sure light at the end of the tunnel in another 1,2,3 weeks
