Arch- What symptoms did you have to look at heart in first place?

my heart started really pumping weirdly in my chest during my attempts to get started back to training for our 5k fun run season. My training times were just suddenly worse than they were 9 years ago when I first got back into running. I just chalked it up to getting older. A few weeks later, I was getting out of breath climbing the stairs, heart would pound in my chest in bed at night.

bought a blood pressure monitor. I was getting 150/110 and around there, so scheduled a Doctor's appt, he could detect some unusual murmers so they scheduled an echocardigram, and that shows the Valve dysfunction. In a valve where I should have 3 leaflet flaps, I have two. It seems like such a minor little silly detail. but I guess over the course of your life it just slowly does damage to your artery with the slight deviation in how the blood spurts out of your heart, so people don't get problems until they are 30-50, Many never know and then one day boom, it pops and you die in a few minutes.

First CAT scan showed my Aorta at 41 Millimeters... normal is 20-25. They operate at about 50-55 because you are close to just bursting your aorta at that point. So when I get 2nd test, we will see how quickly (if at all) it is expanding.

NO lifting weights or hard pooping for me.

My twin brother has a similar issue, Arch - except that he has 4 leaflets instead of 3 so they don't close properly. I don't think he was treated for it, but there's a note in his medical record in case he ever needs to go under the knife, I forget why.

I was checked years later and mine are normal, oddly enough.

Don't die brah, I look forward to your NHL picks on a nightly basis. :peace:

does he have special powers you don't?

other than honkin on bobo?

Archie all the best man, please be careful and ty for posting that man. I've gained a little bit of weight and was looking to lose it all real quick - probably way too quick based on some other things, and you reminded me of that.

Heal up brother.

thanks, always a good time to get in shape. this was a huge wakeup call and I'm feeling better today than I did 10 years ago ( 50 lbs lighter too)

I'm dealing with a lot more serious health issues in the rest of my family, so I go days without thinking of my issues, it really seems super under control. I actually may be donating a kidney to my brother within a year if i'm a good enough match and cleared for going through that surgery once we know I don't need a cardiac surgery (which is highly highly likely I won't need it)

I feel like the odds are very much in my favor. And when I have real motivation I'm able to keep myself very healthy.

Of the 10,000+ deaths in Italy, 1.2% are people who were under the age of 50.

-Dr. David Katz

that is very encouraging.

I'm worried about panic still more than anything. Especially locally, after the news broke that an infant here in Chicago died of Covid19.

I have moments of regretting never bringing my old hunting guns here from Pa.

Heard Gov Cuomo possibly wants to sue RI for their governor stating all vehicles with NY plates will be stopped and told to self quarantine for a period of time or go home! Makes perfect sense to me!

Never going to happen. For that matter no US government can enforce a quarantine order. Its unconstitutional. Doesnt mean they cant threaten or bark about it.

But I for one (I'll bet Reno too) is glad my government cant force me to stay someplace.

I'm not sure what the upshot of this stuff is. Technically we're not supposed to even be far from home now. If say they open up casinos in Deadwood, am I gonna be able to go? Are there police at state line pulling people over? :dunno:

How many NYPD have to die or be out sick before the criminals take advantage in NYC?

Businesses closed, no one on the street to strong arm rob.

Im sure homicides are way down. If gangs of dudes start breaking into residences to start sexually assaulting women, they’ll bring the National Guard in I suppose
