The worst appears over. We don't know where he is going yet, but he has to leave the hospital on Tuesday because that's when he finishes taking whatever medicine they have been giving him. I imagine it will be to a rehab hospital. He continues to improve and can now lift one leg a few inches. The neurologists figure it will be a good 6 months.

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers, he is in good spirits considering all he has been through.

They don't know muddy, but whatever shit they are giving him seems to be working well. He is still in southlake, but now in their rehab unit. Seems like he won't be moving as of yet.

Greg, what he describes is completely what happened to Corbra, he was concerned he was having a stroke too.

He is doing good, didn't get a chance to get there today, but he is going to start rehab at southlake. No one is sure why they changed their minds but for the family that is visiting it is good. It is 15 minutes from my place, 15 from his family and 35 from my mom and dad.

Saw him again today. He is doing really good. Has a fair bit of movement in his legs and can now reach up and touch his nose. Given a week ago last Thursday he was paralyzed from the neck down this is great news. He is making progress every day. Thanks to everyone at gamelive for their thoughts (and maybe prayers). I think the worst is behind him now.

I can't even remember, was he employed at a regular job (and does he have benefits)?

No he doesn't have a regular job or benefits. Owning racehorses and gambling is his JOB. Benefits are few and far between.

Yeah, all essential costs are covered. No co-pay or anything.

My boss fell off a cliff in PEI and had to be rescued by helicopter. That kinda thing isn't covered by the govt (but it was totally covered by his private insurance at work - he also got a private room and a bunch of upgrades.)
