Nunavut is a territory, not a province. They divided up the Northwest Territories and Nunavut was created.

Still only 10 provinces.

All of the provinces are cold, especially by (southern) American standards. Victoria and Vancouver BC have mild winters with little to no snow and temps like Seattle. Grass is green year round there.

In summer it gets hotter than many realize, especially in Ontario, Saskatchewan and the BC interior.

Newfoundland does not get hot in the summer, it gets warm.

For years I bet NCAA hoops all through the season - but not the tourneys. Same as all sports that I researched - I would bet from about 20% into the regular season through to a couple weeks from the end. Never playoffs (except maybe the occasional recreational wager).

I don't bet at all now.

I never used to watch any of it and I still don't.

I have no idea who's running it but I would think you could google "types of NHL playoff contests" and get some results! IMO the Canadians here know best, hopefully I'm not wrong!
