Blackie is buying SBR, one poster at a time

Herman, these sites are prodominately 20-30 age range guys who are either still in college or just starting out their careers making not a lot of money. While I don't think it moral to target such impressionable people I do understand the practice from a business sense.

Now if this Blackie guy is giving away free money in order to get new clients and in return they start wagering there on his dime what's the harm? If they like it and re-up on their dime, what's the harm? If they decide it's not a book that benefits them and leave, what's the harm?

If this Blackie guy starts kidnapping family members and forcing these new clients to continue to fork over every extra nickle they earn then there is a problem. If this Blackie guy goes through with a threat against a poster (like the my dick is bigger than your dick threat he made against MonkeyFocker) then there is a problem.

Am I looking at this wrong?
 
Nope. Well not yet mmike. May not be either cause what I thought a blog to be and what Blackie wants are definately different things. I consider what Bread does blogging, Blackie wants more like what JJ does. So I may pass, not sure yet though.

Regardless though I'm not defending rather trying to see things from an impartial perspective. Seems on this issue of RebateWager people either love or hate and no-one appears to be objective. There have been two threads regarding players and so far in both cases it was primarily the interpretation of the player. Granted the rules may not be favorable but they were in place at the time of both situations. If we are being objective there really isn't a problem there.

That is RebateWager though and NOT Blackie. In both of these threads dealing with RebateWager Blackie stepped out of the role as a business promoter and stooped to the level of a guy on the dtreet. This understandably could turn people off from a professional perspective.

mmike, as of yet I haven't endorsed RebateWager. In every instance that I have posted regarding them I have merely said. "where's the problem"? I know it's easy to not trust people on here and for good reason but I would not support, endorse or "shill" for anything I didn't fully believe in. I haven't done any of those things for RebateWager if you really read what I have written when it pertains to them.

I was just curious, thought I seen somewhere about you, bateman, and some others participating in some semi-secret group to promote RW.
I think it was Bateman that was recruiting.
Even Stevie Wonder can see what PokerDummy ( or nut, whatever his name is) is doing over there


seems strange to me that SBR is pushing RW as hard as they are now, I guess its a mutual relationship.

makes no difference to me either way but what Pokerdude is doing shows his character.

Prior to Bateman's thread Blackie contacted me and ofered me an opportunity to do a daily blog for him starting later next month. I did make mention of this in one of my post as a disclaimer and because I am pretty much as honest and open a person as you will ever meet so you did read that correctly.

Still don't know but will probably at least give the blog (not really a blog as it turns out) a shot. I mean it'll cost me nothing and will make a few dollars in the process for going what we do here for fun. If it turns out I don't like it or if my style doesn't fit what Blackie is looking for then no harm no foul and move on.

It truly does suck and I feel bad for any new gambler trying to find impartial information on sportsbooks these days. Not only can you not trust the ratings of the books, you can't even trust to get a fair opinion from other posters.

So true. Then in the "off years" between scandals there are always a few TSoprano's looking to siphon off the fool's gold. It's the same basic principle that keeps Amway in business: take $50 each from 10,000 fools and you have yourself a cool $500,000. Rinse and repeat.
 
i think they are in better shape than BFC ever was...man did shrink end up looking like an asshat over that whole fiasco... i dont really know much bout the guy or his book and dont care in the least, i was more or less getting on to onner for starting shit about something when he really has no idea how things work. he is always fun to bitch at and he fights back some to make it interesting.

you are right herman, i apologize... i forgot how successful you have become since getting out of school. how you have the world figured out already. i forgot that you know waaayyy more about gaining customers and building a book, than a man who owns an offshore book and has been in the business for god knows how many years... you are so right...i shouldht have jumped on your ass for you criticizing the business model of a successful man with a growing successful business.... what on earth was i thinking... my bad, please forgive me...
