This shit is fucking comical. I ask why there are no trades in the BTC-e API through their support.

I always get this JSON response: { "success":0, "error":"no transactions" }

Their response after a day and a half?

Hello

Please contact user dev.

Now, you tell me where the fuck there's any link/contact info/any-fucking-thing listed on their website for the user development department/forum/support/whatever.

Fucking Mickey Mouse shit.

Their FAQ:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is your name?

It is Arthur, King of the Britons.
What is your quest?

To seek the Holy Grail.
What is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

What do you mean? An African or European swallow?

And people are expected to send money to these people?

Jesus Christ.

Is there one professional organization in the world working with this stuff?

Ok, so, whatever. I've given up on getting the BTC-e trade history. It seems like there have been other people who've tried to get it as well. Just fucking weird that they'd have not one, but two functions in their API to retrieve it when it's not available.

Guess I'm going without. Probably best to use mostly the Mtgox data anyway as their volume has historically been quite a bit bigger.

Namecoin is a unique beast, while all the others are mostly there because miners are looking for an easier coin to mine once the main coins' difficulty becomes too high. Litecoin is a legit cryptocurrency that should survive at least as long as BTC IMOWally. It does offer an advantage over BTC too - transactions are confirmed quite a bit faster. But it's mostly supported by the mining community.

Monkey make an exchange where you can change bitcoins for litecoins and all the others. Just among the crypto currencies and not bother doing the cash in and out crap. Make it so that on a single exchange multiple transactions happen behind the scene, one bitcoin to litecoin then to feathercoin and on and on, a dozen, hundred, thousand times. I dunno, enough to obfuscate the history of the coins. Sending the end transaction to a brand new wallet. It'd be like a pass service, the more passes they want the more "cleaner" it gets. Deviant minds would find that service useful. Regular simpletons could just do a simple currency exchange into some other coin. All digital for you, would only need to acquire your base of coins to make the magic happen.

I may be out of my element here, I'm drinking hot coco and it was 90 degrees at 8 in the morning and am watching the Sunrisers of Hyderabad.

I would do it and HQ it out of Venezuela, but, you know, coding and shit.

That has actually been my intention. It started out by not being able to find a derivative market for these things. I was initially going to provide an exchange for them, but it makes more sense to have as many markets as possible including a base crypto exchange.

Someone needs to take the reins here. It will take a while to develop though.
